Open to 7th and 8th grade students, the SML Robotics team “gears up” after school and prepares to participate in the annual First Lego League competition. This is a very intense program that requires exceptional dedication from our students as they must complete a research project before designing and programing a robot, all while striving to inspire each other through collaborative teamwork.
Robotics isn’t the only after-school activity for our STEM-loving lions. SML also has a CyberPatriot Team, which inspires 7th and 8th grade students towards careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. They complete in the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition that puts high school and middle school students in charge of securing virtual networks.
