K-8 Summer Day Camp

MORNING 9:00 A.M. – 11:30 A.M. (MONDAY-THURSDAY)

In the mornings, students participate in a variety of activities in the areas of reading, writing, mathematics, and study skills. Each child will be placed in a class by current grade level. 

Students going into Kindergarten–4th grade will be reviewing concepts taught throughout the year to reinforce their learning and continue to master their understanding in reading, writing, and mathematics to help them prepare for the next grade level. Supplies needed are pens, pencils, paper, and crayons.

Students going into 5th–8th grade will be assisted in completing their required summer reading projects during 1st session academics. They will read the novel together, discuss annotations, and be guided towards completing their reading projects. There will also be a strong emphasis in reinforcing mathematical concepts to prepare them for the upcoming school year. Students will be provided the required reading novel when they attend summer school, but we ask that they arrive on the first day with pens, pencils, and paper.

AFTERNOON 11:30 A.M. – 4:00 P.M. (MONDAY-THURSDAY)

Students will eat lunch that they brought from home, as there is no hot lunch service provided in the summer. Then, they will participate in a variety of fun on- and off-campus activities. Some of these activities include going to the park, bowling, going to Round 1, visiting Hacienda Pizza Co., playing laser tag, going to Chuck E. Cheese, and more.

ALL-DAY EVENT (FRIDAY)

On Fridays, summer day camp students get the excitement of an all-day trip with no academics in the morning. These full-day events include going to John’s Incredible Pizza, Bullwinkle's, Dave & Buster's, the Discovery Cube, Camelot Golfland, Adventure City, and Medieval Times. Students will travel by bus for all the off-campus trips.

*Note: Snack and Lunch are not included. No fast food or delivery services are allowed. Your child must bring a reusable water bottle and lunch every day. All students must travel on the bus for the trips.

Students in mandatory summer school due to low grade point averages will be the only group that will receive a pass or fail grade. These students must pass both math and reading in Session 1, complete 100% of their assigned work, and have 100% attendance. If these requirements are not met, this will affect their ability to complete Registration to return to St. Mark’s in the fall.

All “Academics Only” students MUST be picked up at 11:30 A.M. No extended Day Care will be provided. “Academics Only” students may NOT go on the Friday trips.

• FULL-DAY: Tuesday, May 26 – Thursday, July 2; No school on Monday, May 25, on Friday, June 19, and on Friday, July 3 

• FULL-DAY: Week one (May 26 – May 29) will be “Summer Soccer Camp” week. During this week from 9:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M., Ms. Clarissa Field will be conducting a soccer camp. The afternoon will consist of health and fitness related activities led by our Day Care Staff. There will be no academics or field trips that week.

• ACADEMICS ONLY: Monday, June 1 – Thursday, July 2; No school on Fridays

• FULL-DAY: Monday, July 6 – Friday, August 7

• FULL-DAY: Week Eleven (August 3 – August 7) will be full-day field trips only. There will be no academics that week.

• ACADEMICS ONLY: Monday, July 6 – Thursday, July 30; No school on Fridays

• ACADEMICS ONLY: There are no academics offered August 3 – August 7.

The St. Mark’s Summer School Dress Code applies to all students in both the “Full-Day” and the “Academics Only” Programs.

St. Mark’s hats are the only hats that can be worn, and they must be worn with brim in front.

Shirts can be Tee or Polo WITHOUT words or pictures (solid, stripes, plaids are okay). Shirt length must be long enough to extend beyond the student's waistband when their arms are raised above their head. Tank tops, sleeveless shirts, and crop tops are not permitted.

Shorts should fit properly (neither too tight or too baggy) and be worn at the waist. The length must be long enough to extend beyond the student’s fingertips when the arms are fully extended at the student’s side. Shorts may not extend below the student’s knees and must not have writing on them. Hems may not be frayed, and they should be free from holes or faux holes. Athletic shorts (nylon, mesh, etc.) of any kind are not permitted.

No sandals or Crocs – all students must wear shoes with socks.

No cell phones, video games, or other electronics.

Boys' hair must be off the collar.
